Acknowledgment of Risk Form

In consideration of the services, agents, officers and employees of Logan Parker and High Sierra Adventures (hereinafter collectively referred to as High Sierra Adventures), I hereby agree as follows:

Although High Sierra Adventures has taken substantial efforts to reduce the associated risks of backcountry travel, High Sierra Adventures has informed me that hiking is not without risk. Certain risks associated with hiking are inherent and thus eliminating ALL risk would jeopardize the integrity of such an activity.

It is the goal of High Sierra Adventures to provide safe and enjoyable educational hikes in the mountains. Therefore by outlining the following common risks and hazards, High Sierra Adventures seeks to inform me of such dangers prior to trip departure and minimize unnecessary exposure to avoidable hazards.

Rock-fall, steep and strenuous terrain, unpredictable weather, altitude sickness, wildlife encounters, dehydration and injuries (medical and/or traumatic) are some (but NOT all) of the hazards encountered in the activities organized by High Sierra Adventures. All of these risks outlined above can be reduced or prevented by sound judgment. Reducing these risks by exercising good judgment and following the expert advice of High Sierra Adventures is my responsibility.

I am aware that the activities provided by High Sierra Adventures entail certain elements of risk and danger. Some hazards in the backcountry can result in serious injury or death. However, High Sierra Adventures has taken extensive measures to prevent such outcome. I also understand that the outlined risks above are not a complete representation of ALL the dangers that can happen in the backcountry. I hereby agree to use sound judgment to prevent compromising personal and/or group safety. Furthermore, I certify that I am physically capable to participate in this activity and I have no medical conditions or needs other than those listed in the registration form.
